2 Amazing Free Small Business Workshops I Attended this Week
What do I get up to when I am not creating my beautiful jewellery? This week I was attending two business development workshops.
I want to share with you two organisations that have been actively providing small businesses in Australia with amazing programs designed to help small business.
Firstly I found out that the Finders Keepers Markets was running a series of online workshops, I was able to sign up for one run by amazing business woman Mel Robbins from thelotco. In this workshop we covered pricing strategies and how to boost and maximise sales at markets. As any small business person knows, knowing how much to charge is one of the biggest hurdles to overcome when starting out, lucky for me I think I am already on the right track so that was very reassuring. Next we went into depth about how to display and we covered strategies to boost sales. With a few markets booked in for later in the year, I now have lots of ideas on promotion and some plans on how improve my physical display.
Next I attended a free workshop run by the Brisbane City Council called Switching on your Social Media Strategy which was presented by Kate vanderVort from Social Mediology. The BCC have a great business suburban business hub in Nundah and I was happy to know that Kate from Social Mediology was our host as I have been to one of her workshops before and she is an absolute marketing genius. Today we not only talked about connecting with our customers in a more meaningful way, and acitvating our customer communities, but we also were introduced to AI or ChatGPT. Wow did that all blow my mind! I have been reading about other business people actively using it in their small business but I really had no idea of its capabilities. Do you have any thoughts about using AI for small business? I would love to hear. Personally I haven’t decided if I want to explore it more or not.
So now I have been reminded how important it is to get out and connect more with other business people and I also realise that I need to really lift my game when engaging on social media with all of my amazing customers. I will be able to fill you in on the markets I have booked into soon on my Facebook and Instagram accounts, and hopefully I will continue to add more details here on my blog too.
